Hi, I have a U2713H with a suspected faulty USB hub. Recently I upgraded my machine to a Windows 10, and I want to redo the color calibration using X-rite i1displayPro. I downloaded the latest Dell calibration software v1.5.8.
The software was able to detect my X-rite calibrator but unable to detect the U2713H monitor. All the memory card reader also undetected in windows. As the result I cant do any calibration at all! I tried to send and contact Dell tech support an email, but it keeps asking for service tag! My monitor has no service tag! I tried to call, and it's asking for service tags too! Please kindly help.
My monitor needs to be repaired/replace. I bought it in 2013, it should be still under warranty.
I bought it from Dell Singapore. I have done some troubleshooting as below:- 1. Swapping USB cable (using USB2.0 cable to try too) on upstream connector - cant detect any memory card slot, slot in USB stick on side - it gave a couple of blinks and died off. No detection done. On/Off monitor 3. Windows device manager USB hub power savings disabled 4.
Load latest available driver None of the above works. Check all my system USB 3.0 slots with USB sticks, all working My U2713H serial number: CN-0C6F0K-84261-35R-07JL. I am having the exact same problem: after ugrading to Windows 10, the USB connection between the U2713H and my (Dell) computer is no longer recognised, which in turn means that the monitor can no longer be calibrated with the Dell Ultrasharp Calibration Solution, just as described by the original poster - which in my case is critical to the workflow. Given that the problem seems identical and that, at least in my case, this was working perfectly fine before the OS upgrade, I strongly doubt that the hardware ports as such are at fault. I suspect that this is likely to be a problem related to the upgrade to Windows 10. I have re-installed the U2713H drivers, but that does not seem to have helped.
Can anybody help? I may need to downgrade the entire system to Windows 7 again, if this cannot be fixed. There are two chipset drivers (the Intel AMT HECI driver and the Intel H77 chipset driver) and the ATA driver. I have successfully installed the Intel H77 chipset driver and the ATA driver.
(Using the 'Update Package for Windows' format: I am assuming I then do not also have to run the 'hard drive' format version of the same drivers - correct?) When trying to install the Intel AMT HECI driver, it tells me that a newer version ('Intel (K) Management Engine Interface (11.0.0.1157)') is already installed and asks me whether I really want to replace it with the older version. This is slightly surprising since according to the Dell website the Dell driver has been updated only very recently, on 18 December 2015.

(For what it's worth, the reason I had not manually installed these before is that instead of 'Find it yourself' I had used the driver scan on the same website, which, somewhat to my surprise, had told me that everything was already up to date.) With the H77 and the SATA driver but not (yet) the (older?) AMT HECI driver installed, the problem is not fixed, but persists as before. Should I install the (older?) driver? Anything else I should try? Shouldn't there be a driver for the card reader included in the hub on the monitor?
(I don't particularly care about the USB ports or the card reader on the monitor as I can work around them, but I really need the USB connection for the Dell Ultrasharp Calibration solution to work.). I think I solved it (for unclear reasons.), inspired by your tangentially related post in a thread called 'MacBook Pro + U2713H Side USB and Card Reader not working': the USB connection worked fine the moment I plugged the USB cable into a USB 2.0 port instead of a USB 3.0 port on the computer (after then switching the monitor off and on again). I don't know whether this is an old problem (it is quite possible that that cable was previously plugged into a USB 2.0 port and now found itself in a USB 3.0 port, as I had removed the cables and computers prior to the clean install, or whether this is a new problem caused by the Windows 10 upgrade, or whether this is related to Dell's earlier problems with USB 3.0 and the U2713H (although I have an A02 version and had a completely lost USB connection). But, whatever the reason, connecting the USB cable between the monitor and the computer to a non-blue USB 2.0 port on the computer instead of a blue USB 3.0 port seems to have fixed this for me. @ renzeroz, if you are still out there: worth trying if your problem has not been fixed.
