I've got an older iBook that used to run Tiger and I could print to this unit wirelessly thru APE (quality wasn't great, but it printed). I upgraded to Leopard and it stopped cold. On 12/24 I bought a new MacBook and it won't print to it either. The printer shows up as a Bonjour printer, but when I try to print to it, I get a 'Communication error' message. I've searched high and low on Google, MacWorld, this discussion site, etc. For a solution and have tried everything - I've been to Epson to download their Leopard-'compliant' driver, have deleted and then re-added the printer, rebooted, etc. A thousand times but still no luck.
I've made sure that the printer is checked as being 'shared' and that I have printer sharing enabled. I even tried a hard reset of my APE b/c one poster said it fixed his similar problem. I've spent all day fooling w/ this and no luck - if I walk up to the printer and plug the USB cable directly into either of my laptops it prints like a charm, but that kind of defeats the point. My question is - there's been so much I've seen about Leopard causing problems like this, so is this a Leopard problem? And if so, is there any workaround for it? Or am I at Apple's/Epson's mercy to eventually do a software/driver update that will fix this, and in the meantime doomed to have to plug my printer in directly every time I want to print something?

I have a epson cx8400 printer and connected it to my macbook, I noticed that leopard assigned it some included guttenburg driver so I tried sending a simple text print job to the printer. No go, one page text print jobs would result in the printer printing blank pages indefinitely unless unplugged (the cancel button on the printer wouldn't respond). I then tried downloading the driver installer from the epson website but the installer didn't properly install the driver (the printer was still using the included guttenburg driver). So finally I resorted to using the installer on the included driver cd and that installer properly installed the epson drivers.
Now that the epson drivers are installed the printer is operating properly and makes acceptable scans. So in the end while it did take some fiddling the printer is infact Leopard compatible, it just wasn't one of the more straightforward printer installations I've done. I had problems with my Epson DX 6000 when I got my iMac, tried everything in the end I went to the Epson web site, sent an email to there tech support using there online form, the next day I got a detailed email back explaining what to do step by step and now everything works great. Give them a try that might solve your problem. Part of the sequence involves deleting all the Epson drivers off the hard drive and running Disk repair from the Utilities and then downloading a driver from the link they give you. The only wrinkle to it now is that every time I print, the Epson Printer Utility starts but then immediately 'quits unexpectedly' - I hit 'ignore' and my print job still prints as planned.
