We have a new client who have several macbooks in the office. We have just installed a new SBS2003 server to act as file server for them and active directory etc for the windows machines in the office. Currently all client computers, including the macbooks, pop there mail server. We are looking at moving them to direct smtp feed into the server. Outlook is OK with setting up, however have not dealt with entourage before. See entourage can connect to exchange servers but can it connect via https, like outlook can for remote and home workers?
If it can please can you kindly advise how this is done. Many thanks, apple newbie:). We have a mixed PC and Mac environment and I had the pleasure of trying to setup Entourage to connect to a SBS 2003 server a few years back. It was rather painful but I think the main point was Entourage didn't like the self-signed certificate you get by default and you have to generate a new one by following this: Then Entourage will work but still complain upon startup that it's self-signed, so then you can use a tool called CerttoolGUI to import the certificate into OS X and then it just works: There might be a few steps I've missed but those are the main points, I think.
This might prove helpful: He doesn't mention anything about generating a new self-signed certificate but it certainly worked for me.
